"It was a virus. An infection. You didn't need a doctor to tell you that. It was the blood. It was something in the blood. By the time they tried to evacuate the cities it was already too late. Army blockades were overrun. And that's when the exodus started. Before the TV and radio stopped broadcasting there were reports of infection in Paris and New York. We didn't hear anything more after that.’"

However figuring out she had too much of an anger management problem, Jess decided to opt out of the military work and start a family.
On the other side, she's sweet and good nature to children and a lovable tomboy to those she loves. She'll do anything for a child as long as they're safe. Determined to keep the infected out and the civilians in. She wants everyone to be safe and secure. But if they're infected...out they go.

"I'm fine." Rain finally rolled her eyes as she shrugged her friend off of her. She hated when people tried to comfort her, rubbing her back, this and that...it never worked. Finally her olive colored hand had to come and pick off Alice's hand from her back. "I'm fine." eyeing the other woman with a slight glare. That's when she stopped in mid tracks and ignored everything about the bull shit in Raccoon City. They could have their talks later. As Jon made his presence known once more the young woman turned to look at him, her dark gaze piercing and heard him tell them it was time to go. Arching a brow. "And where, exactly would you like to go?" sarcasm. He loved her for it and she knew it. However she wasn't exactly happy with him at the moment. Just where the fuck did he expect them to go? Timbucktoo? Running her hands through her dark locks that were up in a ponytail did she finally take her gun back out once more and fire a straight shot at a zombie not too far away.
"All right, you win." blowing the smoke off of the tip of the gun and holstered it. "I'm runnin' low on ammo, gotta' get some more supplies somewhere." scowling at him. Maybe she was pissed at him, but hey he deserved it because she had every right to be pissed. Being mad made for good sex, and in their case they needed to be mad all they could. "You got connections?" eyeing Alice for a moment now. "Why are you here...besides..." shrugging the thought off. "Looks like you two have something in common." clapping a hand over Alice's back pretty harshly to signal that she did get that the auburn headed girl was calming her and comforting her, and she appreciated it.
When J.D. was around he'd probably be crying right now. As it was, he had been more alert and ...well depressed when Rain had gotten bitten. Now he'd just be distressed, depressed and worried. Ocampo looked down to her hand, pulling the engagement ring from her finger. "Should I pawn it?" holding it up in the sunlight as her gaze looked to Alice and then back to Jon who hung in the shadows. "Sun's gonna go down soon..." changing the subject as she idly slid the ring back on her finger quickly and finally started walking again.
"We're going to be walking in this shit hole for days, who's got a private jet?" the tomboy asked. "Anyone? , anyone?" a smirk. "No?" eyeing Alice once more.
